A bit about counselling

Psychodynamic counselling is a counselling method which involves making discoveries about yourself. It aims to bring the unconscious into the conscious awareness so that you can gain some insight and understanding into what is going on in your life or what is troubling you.
Talking about past experiences may be very painful and difficult at times. During therapy we together seek to understand how current emotional and psychological difficulties can have their origin in thoughts and feelings that are unconscious to you and may be located somewhere in past childhood experiences.

Psychodynamic therapy is considered one of the more long-term therapy types. It is a gradual process which takes time.
It is essential to keep in mind that counselling is not a magic pill or a quick fix: counselling is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the client and counsellor alike. But in the end, making small changes in self-defeating behavior and in feelings of sadness, fear, anger and pain can bring life-altering results.
